The
Tektronix VM700 has become a world wide industry standard for the
measurement of television signals. The VM700T is the latest version
of the equipment and incorporates the ability to deal with serial
digital signals as well as the traditional analogue variety. It
is used in many different environments ranging from hire companies,
with a single VM700, who wish to check that the equipment hired
out is to specification, to transmission companies, with over 100
units, who need to measure transmitted signal parameters from a
central control point.
Rarely
fully utilised, the facilities offered by the VM700 are probably
the most extensive of any similar piece of test equipment. Time
and money can be saved by understanding the potential of the VM700
and having at least an overview of how that potential can be realised.
